The Future of World Religions at the Cross Roads

The Catholic Pope is now under fire from Islam for comments made during a speech, which was like a history lesson about the wars between religion of the past and why they should be reviewed and prevented in the future. Unfortunately, it was misinterpreted by the Islamic Clerics and now we have yet another issue akin to the cartoons that offended the Muslim World. Is it the Catholic World we should scold for the comments of the Pope or should we scold the Muslim World for blowing it up out of context?

This clash of religion and wars has gone on too long. Who is at fault? Well we all are for allowing these conflicts to permeate our minds, TV sets and the World Mass Media, but really all-religion is problematic, Mankind needs to grow up, ditch religion and experience a little acceleration in forward progression of this species.

Some say we are moving too close to WWIII others say it has already started. Yes we are in the midst of WWIII; the conflict in Israel and cease fire and then the attack on US Embassy in Syria, kind of says it all, negotiation is not possible, so action must be taken Carl von Clauswitz style. Meanwhile if Islam does an international terrorist attack on Vatican, then the Italians will indeed strike at the heart of Islam. Do we really need to destroy human culture and history or can we agree to ditch religion without the scattering of human sacrifice across the desert sands? Consider this in 2006.

Discount Wood Blinds - What You Should Know

All too often, people make the mistake of thinking that wood blinds are just too expensive to fit their budgets. The truth in most cases is just the opposite. Try searching for discount wood blinds and you will find wood blinds that are not only attractive, but will fit your budget as well. Here is a closer look at ways of finding discount wood blinds.

Before you begin your search for any type of wood blinds you need to do a little prep work. You will need to how many windows you wish to cover as well as get all your measurements written out. This will come in handy later.

Next, get a good idea about the different styles and brands of wood window blinds by doing a little window shopping at some of your local stores. Why is this important? Well, many times what you see online may not look the same in person.

Finally, have a budget in your mind so you know what you can spend.

Now, it's time to begin your search for discount wood window blinds.

As you were window shopping so to speak I am sure you also took the opportunity to check out the prices on various blinds. Perhaps the store even had a clearance sale going on. This is a great way to find big discounts on wood blinds. You will definitely want to keep an eye out for any sales.

You may also find a one of a kind closeout sale of sorts. This can be a great way to get a good deal, but be careful that the blinds aren't damaged or defective when you are in the store. Often times these bargains are offered at a no return policy.

Shopping at websites online is another great way to find discount wood blinds as well. Online stores such as Levolor, Hunter Douglas, and many others all have sales at various times of the year. Even beyond that, doing a search for discounted blinds will bring up many other options.

The important thing to keep in mind with buying wood blinds online is to be sure of their return policy. You never know if you might want to return them and you don't want to find out later that you are out of luck. Any reputable dealer will have a good return policy.

These are just a few ideas on how to find discount wood blinds. Like most anything you want, the key is to take your time and search things out. By doing so you will find exactly what you want at a great price!

Midlife Women in the Age of Miracles

Are you living your life's dream right now? Women, midlife can be the age of miracles for you. If you are not yet living your dream but are still alive? There's still time!

Victor Hugo once said "Each one should frame his life so that at some future hour fact and his dreamings meet."

There is a story told that years ago, while unearthing an ancient Egyptian tomb, an archaeologist came upon seeds buried in a piece of wood. When they were planted, the seeds realized their potential after more than 3,000 years!

There are seeds of possibility in all of us still. Allow yourself some waking DREAMING... what do you see for yourself?

It's becoming clearer and clearer to me how we create every aspect of our lives - and when we get truly alert - or conscious, we begin to see how we get to SEE in life only that which we have already SEEN in mind..

Do you know where you're going to?
You're going wherever you SEE yourself going...
Take time this week - randomly set an alarm during the day - and when it goes off ask -

is what I'm doing right now taking me where I want to go?

Do you like the things that life is showing you?
It's showing you what you were able to see in the past.
If you don't like what you are seeing - Start SEEING it differently.. Scripture tells us - without a vision, the people perish... Without knowing where you are going - you'll dissipate the energy on things that are meaningless...

How do you see yourself? Where do you see yourself in a year? What are you doing? Who are you being? In 5 years? And ultimately - what's your REAL AIM in life? Women in midlife have the perfect opportunity to ask these questions.

SPEND Time EVERY day picturing what you would have your life to be...

-Create Treasure Maps if you're visual -

-Tell yourself if your auditory...

-Test drive the car if your kinesthetic
You KNOW to do these things-- are you doing them? And,
If not, why not?

You probably have about one third of a lifetime - at least - left. Don't let being a woman in midlife stop you.

This truly can be your age of miracles.

And so, I would like to offer a support system for getting clear on what you want. In fact, I'm all about creating a new Midlife paradigm. When you subscribe to my free Midlife newsletter, you'll also receive instant access to a special report called, "7 Secrets for Reinventing Midlife from the Inside-Out". How to Greatly Improve Your Manifestations

Chances you are familiar with: The Power of Intention, Think and Grow Rich, The Secret, The Law of Attraction, or Ask and it is Given. Let's face it, these methods for manifesting your desires into reality teach much of the same methods, through different angles.

What makes up their bulk of their messages (instead of focusing on the important mystic essentials for one to directly change reality to their will) are hours of self-help, spiritual inspiration, and tools for personal and inner transformation. May just be me, but that sounds like another subject matter. Yet supposedly these are the real issues behind your ability, or lack thereof. It boils down to surrendering negative thoughts, re-remembering positive elements of life, and going through self-therapy until the results in your life follow the changes in your outlook. Once you can hold a positive outlook, the petty psychology that fueled what manifested in your life until now, will fade away, replaced by positive changes. Some schools even use generalizations in quantum physics to support their methods. The bottom line is by changing your thoughts, you will change your reality.

Why then, is it so impossible to achieve for the mass majority!?

If you are like thousands of others, you may be thinking sure it sounds logical, but why (despite how much you understand positive thinking), behind all the applied optimism, does it feel like everything is still a luck of the draw situation? That much like a domino effect, your destiny seems to have been set in motion by cosmic dice thrown at the moment of your birth? Pretty fatalistic right? What if there was a way to alter those dominoes? That is what Manifesting or co-creating is all about right?

It doesn't matter how many authors out there can explain away the logic, it doesn't automatically make them qualified to teach how-to achieve it. Sure, in order to teach how, you must do so from experiential success, but the other side is understanding the mind-state (not just the intentions) of the student learning it. So let's get to the heart of this article.

Most people automate. They are not in control of their thoughts. Hindu yogi's call it the monkey mind. The Higher Balance Institute calls it your "Babbler". The bottom line is, if you don't know how to control it, then it won't matter how much you grasp, your brain will still play thoughts like a broken record. No matter how clearly you've traced where your negativity originated from in childhood, figuring that out will only change "the content" your babbler uses to dilute your focus while manifesting.

Put positive and negative aside. If your mind is undisciplined, your attempts at manifesting won't generate enough "fuel" or energy to alter the cosmic dominoes beyond your awareness. But, if you somehow had enough fuel to "broadcast" your intentions out to God or the Universe, call it what you will, I guarantee it would add the missing link!

So how can you build this kind of fuel? There are several easy ways. No, I'm not trying to trick you, they really are easy if you put one daily foot in front of the other.

1. Learn how to control your thoughts. Learn an effective meditation and make it a daily practice. Never mind enlightenment (for now), just train your thought control. (make sure it's not a mantra technique, you don't want any triggered spoken or structured thoughts at all) I highly recommend the methods that focus on a chakra. Once you can hold a state of "non-thought" for 1 minute, you are VERY close to your goal.

2. Use this new skill in your manifestation sessions. Relax into a clear state of "nonthought", and instead of a ton of babbled-thoughts representing your intention, or representing what you are asking God, you will use your new meditative skill to isolate the emotional texture (behind the words) of what it is you desire. It cuts to the chase and amplifies the fuel!

3. Hold that emotion! Focus solely on broadcasting the feeling to the universe. Then broadcast it to the deepest part of your heart and mind. Use this fuel technique to program yourself too. Our bodies are electrical, programmed from birth by reality itself. This works far better than spoken or 'babbled' affirmations.

Having more fuel makes all the difference. But if you still have an undisciplined mind, just forget about it. Sure, your desires have an emotional fuel in themselves, but if your mind can only last 5 seconds before another thought comes in diluting it, it basically just evaporated whatever fuel was building.

Train your non-thought skill. Use it to enhance your manifestations and achieve the success you know you've earned. That's Direct Manifestation!

Prayer - The Anti-Drug Program

Earlier this month, Alex Rodriguez, the New York Yankees' all-star third baseman, admitted to using drugs to improve his performance and justify his enormous salary. Those muscle-building, performance-enhancing substances have long-term, serious side effects. Liver damage? Heart damage? Hypertension? It's just the cost of doing business as far as many "uber athletes" are concerned. The immediate pay off in an inflated salaries, lucrative endorsement contracts and the adulation of trusting fans are too irresistible for some.

Unfortunately, thousands of impressionable teens imitate these so-called role models in an effort to win at all costs. They put their faith in steroids and take them in locker rooms and weight rooms across the country. Hundreds of thousands of high school and college athletes believe they must be bigger, faster, stronger, in order to compete. By the time they step onto the playing field, they're "juiced up."

The truth is the greatest foe those athletes face is themselves. The taking of drugs is a sign that they have lost faith in themselves. It takes real strength of character and fortitude to commit to the kind of exercise regimen, diet and practice routines, which are needed to become a true champion. But something else is needed.

Many great athletes have said that their game is 10% physical; 90% mental. Yes, they have natural physical ability, but more than that, they have faith in themselves. They succeed because they believe they will succeed. They don't need steroids because they have something better. They have faith. And the same principle is at work in all walks of life.

We can see an example of that kind of faith at work far from the athletic field. In Mark 9: 14-29, we read how the faith of a father moved Jesus to heal his demon-possessed son. The boy was completely powerless to help himself. Talk about physical limitations--he repeatedly fell into the water and fire in what must have been a living hell.

Ignoring the derision of the scribes, the father beseeched the apostles to cure his son--only to have them fail in the attempt. But the father could not be deterred. When the crowd parted, and he saw Jesus standing before him, he implored the Lord:

"...if you can do anything," the father begged, "have compassion on us and help us."

Jesus actually rebuked the man. "'If you can!' Everything is possible to one who has faith."

Challenged by Jesus, the boy's father cried out, "I do believe, help my unbelief!"

Immediately, Jesus turned to the boy and commanded the mute and deaf spirit to leave him.

Like that father, most of us encounter situations that test our faith. Setbacks and failures that can sap our spirits and leave us hurt, angry and discouraged. We may begin to question our own abilities, our worthiness, our faith - - and our God. We might be tempted to quell those feelings of inferiority with alcohol or drugs.

The next time you encounter obstacles that leave you questioning God's will for your life, bring those doubts to prayer and ask the Lord to "help my unbelief."

Bath Lift Features and Benefits - A Consumers' Guide to Bath Lifts

Bath lifts are specially designed seats that fit into a standard bathtub with no remodeling or drilling necessary. The seat lowers the user into the bath, and then raises them when they are ready to get out. Of course, some bath lifts are better than others. For example, a reclining bath lift is more comfortable - who wants to sit up perfectly straight while taking a relaxing bath?

The dimensions of the seat itself should also be a consideration. The width of the seat is pretty standard within an inch or so (because it must fit into a standard bathtub), but the depth of the seat varies. Would the user prefer a "deeper" seat, or not? Also, different bath lifts have different weight capacities: if the user is 300 lbs. or more, they will probably need one of the more robust bath lifts. Should the bath seat be portable, to make it easier to transport or store? Most of the better bath lifts can be broken down into two or three pieces, making storage or transportation much easier.

The optional features that are offered with bath seats can make all the difference in the world. For example, some bath lifts offer an optional swivel seat which makes getting into and out of the seat much easier. Also, soft seat covers are usually considered optional and would be more comfortable than the hard plastic surface, but would require cleaning more regularly. For those with greater mobility needs, some bath lifts offer chest harnesses or lap harnesses, which can make it much easier for a caretaker to use.

Bath lifts can be large, expensive, fixed installations; but this guide primarily deals with the more affordable types that are mounted to the bathtub by suction cups and are battery-operated. All battery-operated bath lifts are designed to use the charge intelligently. That is, they will not lower the seat into the bath unless the remaining battery charge is sufficient to raise the chair back up. This means the user doesn't have to worry about being stuck in the bathtub because of a dead battery in the bath lift. These types of bath lifts are very dependable, safe, sturdy, and they don't require professional installation. These models are also much more affordable and have become much more popular than fixed installations.

If you are thinking of purchasing a bath lift for yourself or a loved one, you should take all of these factors into consideration. Bath lifts are now as inexpensive as $500, reclining models are as low as $600, and they offer all the same benefits as the heavy installations that cost several thousand dollars.

Sean Lutger is an experienced writer on products offered by the medical industry. Bath lifts are very convenient, safe, and comfortable. Recently, they have become much more affordable because they can now be installed without remodeling or drilling. Learn more by visiting AmeriGlide.

Get Results by Understanding How Your Staff Think

We all think differently, we all have our own unique view of the world and put completely different meanings from one another, to everything that happens around us, to conversations that we have, to things we pick up in the news etc. In NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) terms, 'the map is not the territory'. None of us think about any situation in exactly the same way. This is because we all have our own unique values, beliefs and needs.

The iceberg, used in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, represents how our results are driven by our behaviours which are derived from our emotions which are created by our thoughts. Therefore what we achieve is driven by what we think.

Basically this means that in order to change someone's results, we need to dive beneath the surface and change the way they think. Most managers tend to float on the surface and concentrate on the performance itself. This usually results in a directive or advisory approach. When you understand how the brain works then you will understand why these traditional approaches are ineffective long term.

When you understand that everybody has a different view of the world, then it would follow that what is right for one person isn't necessarily right for another. Think about this the next time you want to offer your advice to somebody. Yes it may be good advice for you, and it may be what you would do in that situation, but is it right for them?

Assignment

Start taking note of conversations over the next month, conversations that you have at home or work or with friends, but also other peoples conversations (honestly, you are not being nosey, you just have a genuine interest in people!)

Note how often people are not always talking about the same thing even though they think they are. Listen to how people's opinions differ. Notice how people get frustrated when they can't get their point across or the other person doesn't quite get it. How often do people give, a 'whatever' answer and just quit trying to explain? How often do people give their advice only to have it shrugged off? How often do you receive advice that falls on deaf ears? You will start to smile to yourself as you notice different points of view on the same subject, or different meanings assigned to the same conversation.

Take your time to do this assignment as it will really help you understand the concept of The Silent Motivator System.

Making Business Proposals Work Their Magic

People in the business world usually dread business proposals. That being said, they will also admit their necessity. Writing a good business proposal is usually the difference between failures and successes. You should be able to master the technique, since it is fairly simple.

To begin writing a business proposal, you need to identify what the competition wants. Sometimes you have the luck of asking them, but other times you will not. Giving the client what they require, whether stated or not, will usually ensure you a win.

The second step is to assess the competition. If there is a lot of competition, this deal may require more energy or, conversely, not be worth a whole lot of time and effort. While you should make every effort to remain competitive, avoid situations that may turn into bidding wars. Most businesses will not benefit from undercutting the competition rather than focusing on product. However, you need to remain competitive, especially if you are in a field with a lot of competition.

Step three is to ask pertinent questions. More customers are willing to provide information than you may think. Asking the right questions can clue you to their needs. A lot of people think they know what the customer wants, but if a customer doesn't feel understood, they will find someone who does.

Keeping in mind these tips should help ease your business proposal writing process. Drafting a business proposal that is effective will usher in work as well as distinguish you as an expert. If you have the information needed, you should easily be able to create an effective proposal.

How to Achieve Financial Freedom With a Powerful Goal

Some of the most popular search terms on Google are about money and how to get it, often in a short amount of time. At some point in most of our lives we need or want more of it. But if financial freedom is our goal, just how do we make this work for us? How do we motivate ourselves to have the money that we want?

Most coaches and self-help books will teach you that goals need to be specific, measurable, realistic and time-based. This seems easy when it comes to money; we just state exactly how much we want (for example, a yearly or monthly income), how we're going to achieve it and by when we want to have it.

But just how powerful is the goal of a specific income? Is the achievement of money a goal in itself, or is there a more powerful goal we could use to pull ourselves forwards to financial freedom?

A large number of people searching on Google use the term, "I want money". There's nothing wrong with that, but when people start saying "All I want is money", I get a little dubious.

I don't know about you, but the idea of acquiring large amounts of pieces of coloured paper, or black figures on a bank statement does not really inspire me. Not as an ultimate goal.

What we tend to forget is that money itself is not the true motivator. When we say we want money, we are really saying that we want the things that money can buy. What those things are is a matter of personal choice. For some it might be material things such as a new car, a big country house or a yacht. For others it might be the ability to send their kids to university, or take four holidays a year, and for some it might just having a sense of security or freedom, or being able to contribute to charity. Or it might be a mixture of all of these.

These things are far more motivating to us than just having the tool to acquire them. After all, when a builder builds a house, does he only set his mind on acquiring trowels and hammers and all the other tools that are needed, or does he visualise the building that those tools will build? The answer to that is a no-brainer, yet many of us seem to do this when it comes to money.

Money is, in fact, no more than a tool. The builder needs his tools in order to build his house, but acquiring them is just a step in the process. Furthermore, if he only thought of how he was going to acquire the tools, I doubt he would ever be motivated to build a beautiful house.

In order to create the inspiration and motivation that will give us the key to getting the tools (i.e. money), we need to make our goal the thing that those tools will build for us.

Think about the joy and sense of achievement you will feel when you turn the key in the door of your new home, or when you see the delight on your children's faces when you take them to Disneyland, or the sense of freedom when you have a lifestyle where you no longer have to worry about meeting the monthly bills.

These are the goals that will get you out of bed every morning and get you taking the steps to make the money that will bring them to you.

You will, of course, need to be aware of how much money you will need in order to create these goals, but your money goal is now part of your action plan: a stepping stone on the way to your ultimate goal. When you visualise your goal, you will be visualising something real and personal: your house, your family's happiness, your own daily lifestyle in detail, in colour and with all the feelings that go with it.

It is far easier to visualise your goal when it is personal, than it is to visualise an income level. Your goal is now far more meaningful to you, and will set you on course for achieving financial freedom.

Instead of merely chasing money, you are now on a path to the life of your dreams.

Religious Fundamentalism Can Create Problems

Religious groups can easily justify their actions by using religious text to benefit and promote their beliefs. The Muslims can sling quotes out of the Quran to justify their treatment towards women as second-class or even third class citizens in society, often removing certain rights from them because they weren't born men.

Shouldn't these women be treated equally. This is where religious fundamentalism evolves into religious fanaticism.

Christians can often use the same tactics to justify their beliefs and Christianity. This list goes on and on and has created hardships in the past on some people in our civilizations and will continue to do so in the future. As long as people continue to turn a blind eye to evil religious and government leaders, atrocities will take place and some of them will even be supported by those who eventually will become accused are victims of their own wrongdoings.

Does anyone remember the Ku Klux Klan? If you live in the south eastern part of the United States, there is a very good chance that you have heard of them or even know someone who belongs to this organization. The Ku Klux Klan was responsible for hanging African Americans throughout the early 1900s to prove that the white race was superior to the race of black people. Their religious beliefs fueled them with righteousness.

If this going on anywhere in the world today, may be issues about abortion or gay marriage. It seems like an oxymoron, if we allow gay people to get married, we won't have to worry about the abortion issue.

Some Christians, but most Americans look at this as a shameful part of our American heritage. It's not something that most Americans would ever support today. I would like to point something out about the Ku Klux Klan, they started out as a Christian organization and made examples out of other white people who weren't conforming to their ideal Christian society.

There are stories of people that abused their wives and the Ku Klux Klan set them straight, one way or another. If it required beating the crap out of them or killing them, something needed to be done and they are morally obligated to perform the task as Christians. These people took their Christian beliefs to an extreme.

When are we as a country and the world going to start fighting religious fundamentalism at its core and stop the atrocities that are going on today, using religion to justify their wrongdoings.

Starting With Simple Things

Redesign Your Home Into Your Dream Home

What could you do with $150,000? You could buy a small, modest home in some communities. You could sell your home and move to a larger home. Or you could redesign and personalize your current home so that, although it will appear average on the outside, looking undistinguished from the neighbours, there is absolutely nothing average about the interior once the work is complete.

Exactly what sort of project are we talking about? Interior renovations and redesign with minimal, if any, work being done to the exterior of the home. Most often such a project will include all the areas that make up the entertaining zones of a house kitchen, dining room, living room, entry, hallway, and a powder room or washroom basically just the areas that guests would definitely see. Sometimes these projects also include the staircase, and depending on the scope of the space planning changes and original layout of the house, some slight modifications to the bedrooms may come about as well. More often than not, these projects involve structural work, plumbing, electrical, and tons of finishing work.

Usually when such a major project is undertaken, part of the purpose is to create a more open-concept space within the existing exterior walls. Although it is easy to presume that fewer walls equates to fewer costs, this is a major misconception when it comes to renovations, because there are many more issues that have to be addressed:

Chances are that at least one wall to be removed is currently load bearing (structural). The load will have to be temporarily supported until the new permanent structural elements are properly in place. A consultant (structural engineer or similar) should be involved.

In many municipalities, a permit is not required for a simple renovation, but the minute you start touching anything structural a permit becomes a mandatory acquisition and expense not to mention a potential delay if the application was not submitted early enough. Check with your municipality for specific details concerning timing, cost, necessity, and other pertinent information.

When you demolish a wall, you are left with a damaged area of flooring which usually necessitates replacing the entire floor. On occasion you can get away with installing a coordinating or contrasting inlay of another flooring material, but this tends to cost in labour alone what a whole new installed floor would cost.

Demolishing a wall also creates the need for repair on the ceiling and on any adjoining perpendicular walls. Although not an expensive fix, it is certainly costlier than just plastering a few nail holes or other imperfections.

Electrical wiring, outlets and light switches all have to be rewired and relocated.

Pipes, plumbing stacks, ventilation conduits, ducting, and the like, all have to be relocated to be concealed within floor/ceiling constructions and within walls that will remain.

As with any renovation project, labour accounts for approximately 30% of the total budget. Consultants fees (designers, engineers, etc.) and contingencies (unforeseen circumstances) are both higher for this scope of work than for a simple renovation project.

What motivates homeowners to go to this extreme with interior redesign and renovations? There is actually no typical homeowner profile for projects of this scale. Sometimes a house has been purchased inexpensively and putting a large amount of money into renovations would still be within the purchasers budget and not bring the total too far over the market value. Other times a family has lived in the home for many years, the mortgage is either paid off or now quite low, and they just cant imagine moving, so major renovations are the best solution to meet their changing needs. Sometimes such projects come about due to physical needs; major renovations are often required to make a home fully usable to someone in a wheelchair who wants to maintain their independence. It is also common that an older parent moves in with his/her adult child and their family in this case renovations would be done to facilitate both added privacy and improved family space. The reasoning behind investing so much into a home is completely based on personal and/or family-life lifestyles and dynamics, budget and finances, changing needs, a love of the home and its location, and so much more.

The implications of such a major redesign on a home vary as much as peoples reasons for taking on such projects in the first place. Depending on both the specifics of your project, and the community in which your home is located, the value of your home may increase by about as much as the budget of the project, or as little as about 25% of the value of the renovation. Property values could be discussed with a knowledgeable and experienced local real estate agent prior to commencing the project. It is important to remember which information the real estate agent can provide that is of value to you it is not in a real estate agents field of expertise to counsel you concerning wood species for cabinetry, and his/her personal opinions should be taken exactly as such. However, you will want to listen to his/her point-of-view concerning the benefits or negative implications of things such as creating a huge washroom vs. a walk-in closet for the master bedroom, or a home theater room vs. a larger kitchen with a cozier family room. But in the end, it is your needs from your home and space that should have the final word on how the project unfolds. Possible implications extend beyond resale value. Also on those lines though, are property taxes and ease of sell-ability. Even if you are increasing your homes value by $75,000, there is a chance that it will take longer to find the right buyer should you ever decide to sell it is sometimes a bit of a challenge to sell a home priced significantly higher than others in a neighbourhood, no matter the justification for the price.

One implication of large-scale redesign projects, which has to be taken into account during the design phase, is temperature control. Especially if you are opening-up the floor plan, you will want to keep in mind that the walls you have now play a role in stopping cold air from the front door from blowing straight through to the back of your home. In summer months, the walls prevent hot sunlight from reaching areas from all sides. How sound travels through your home will also be affected with fewer walls present. Your requirements from your kitchen ventilation might also have to be reevaluated. If you have any young children, or pets, you may find it more difficult to restrict them from certain areas (such as the kitchen when the oven is hot) without walls or doorways. At the same time though, you will have better visibility of your home from almost any given area. Communication with a family member from the next room will be effortless. The sense of isolation that often comes with being in the kitchen to prepare a meal will be a thing of the past.

With little effort, you can prepare a list pages-long of the pros and cons of open concept floor plans, and major redesign projects in general. Everyone you speak to will have strong opinions about your project, its goals, and the alternatives available to you. Keep in mind that others preferences do not affect how you and your family use your home; some of us function at our best with smaller but more numerous rooms, while others thrive in open space. The only way to ensure that a project of this scale will be all that you dream of and more, is to hire the proper professionals interior designers, engineers, general contractors, or others, early enough in the planning phases. Before committing yourself to a contract with anyone whom you will have to work closely with, make sure that the right chemistry exists between you your input and questions should be welcomed by them, and their responses and reactions to you should give you a sense of confidence.

American Home Vegetable Gardening & the Tomato

A hundred years ago, almost every American family grew some of their own produce at home. In rural America, farming families would grow almost all their vegetables, as well as raise livestock for their meat and dairy needs.

Today, with the advent of mass transportation and the growth of suburban America, there are fewer and fewer self-supporting family farms. Many Americans living in urban or suburban areas do the majority of their grocery shopping at large commercial grocery stores. However, home vegetable gardening has reemerged as a popular hobby for families.

Of all homegrown vegetables, the tomato is considered the most popular crop. Many American families plant at least one tomato plant each year, either in their backyard or somewhere in the landscaping around their home. What is the reason for the tomato plant's widespread popularity? It is an extremely easy plant to grow, thriving in almost all U.S. climate conditions and soil types. Tomatoes will grow in almost any location that receives at least four hours of sunlight per day. They do require regular watering for optimum fruit production, but will produce some fruit even in dry conditions.

Tomatoes are a fairly disease resistant crop, too, suffering only occasionally from leaf wilt and blight. Good planting and pruning techniques can usually prevent these problems. Tomato bugs, white flies, and cutworms can also pose threat to tomatoes, but these pests can usually be kept at bay with soap spray, cutworm collars placed at the bottom of the plant, or other commercially available pesticide sprays.

Because tomatoes are such a popular plant for home gardeners, they are usually readily available for purchase as young plants from local garden centers and discount stores during the early spring months of the year. Plants found in stores will probably be of the more common varieties and hybrids such as Better Boy, Beefsteak, Sweet 100 (a cherry type tomato) and Early Girl. Less common varieties may have to be purchased as seeds and grown "from scratch" by the gardener. Growing plants from seed is certainly a more economical option than buying already established plants, and can be worthwhile, particularly when planting on a large scale.

Growing plants from seed is not difficult, and seed packets for many vegetables and herbs usually begin appearing on store shelves as early as January or February. Starting plants from seed indoors is a good way to get a head start on the growing seasons, and can often result in bigger plants and larger harvests. All you really need are pots full of soil and a warm, sunny location for them during the day. For optimum seed starting conditions, you can also use a grow light or heat lamp.

Greenhouses can also be enormously helpful in starting plants from seed, because they create warmer growing climates for the plants than the surrounding air outside. For the gardener with space restrictions, indoor tabletop green houses can be a good option, as they occupy no more space than a small table or workbench. For the serious gardener with plenty of outdoor space, a larger outdoor greenhouse may be the better choice. Greenhouse kits to help you build your own greenhouse are readily available through specialty catalogs and online stores.

Though home gardening isn't what it used to be a century ago, it has adapted along with the American family and our growing and changing way of life. Most families today obtain the vast majority of their food from grocery stores; however, the small suburban garden continues to thrive as a source of good food and a leisurely pastime for millions of American families today.

Develop Self-Esteem Via Self-Improvement Skills - Develop Self-Esteem For Leadership

Aristotle, who is among the best known classical Greek philosophers, wrote about how important it is to develop self-esteem. Founders of religions also have had an influence on personal development techniques as we know them today. I talk about self-improvement skills that are used to build self-confidence with confidence-building methods, which are based on ancient ideals, in this commentary.

"Humility: Imitate Jesus Christ and Socrates." Benjamin Franklin

Socrates was a classical Greek philosopher who helped provided the foundation for Western civilization. Plato's work is the most reliable source of records concerning his mentor Socrates. Plato portrayed Socrates as a man who listened to a "divine voice in his head." Some philosophies of Socrates and Jesus Christ were very similar.

"Do not do to others what angers you if done to you by others." Socrates

The position of Socrates is similar to a commandment, which Jesus expressed in the Sermon on the Mount; and it is one of the central ethical values of Jesus Christ. Notice the philosophical similarity of what Socrates recommended with the well-known Golden Rule, which was put forth over some 400 years after the execution of Socrates.

"Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them; for this is the law of the prophets." (Matthew 7:12 KJV)

The life of Socrates is generally considered a paradigm of philosophic life; and it is generally a good model for anyone to imitate. Socrates has been admired and emulated on a par with founders of religions like Jesus Christ and Buddha. This is a paradox because Socrates was tried, convicted; and executed on the grounds of being irreverent toward the Greek gods.

Aristotle, who was a student of Plato and therefore received many of his values indirectly from Socrates, did more than simply intellectualize a theory about how people should behave. He created written instructions in his book, Nicomachean Ethics, which extolled the value of having high self-esteem; and there are self-improvement skills, which are included in confidence-building methods to develop self-esteem in order to help you produce a leadership quality personality, which are based on that ancient document.

Self-Improvement Skills

The best self-improvement skills, of which I am aware, to develop self-esteem and build self-confidence are confidence-building methods that I call "behavior strategies."

The behavior strategies are 3 premeditated and deliberate self-improvement skills to develop the core values, as described in Aristotle Ethics, and to develop self-esteem. The behavior strategies are used to condition your subconscious mind; and therefore you can change your subconscious thoughts, which actually control your behavior 90% of the time.

Let me be clear about this, you never even "hear" your subconscious thoughts; but they control your behavior a vast majority of the time. Ergo, you can develop self-esteem by developing your subconscious reaction to your environment. You do not have to allow the bad things in your past control your subconscious thoughts, which trigger your behavior most of the time.

You can control your personality, and not the other way around, simply by conditioning your subconscious triggers. You can develop self-esteem and build self-confidence by using self-improvement skills to change your thoughts on the subconscious level, from negative to positive thinking. You can control your power of positive thinking on the subconscious level.

You only need to put into practice the easy-to-do confidence-building methods and develop behavior that is consistent with Aristotle Ethics. Dedicate a total of about 60 minutes a day; the exercises are divided into 10 and 20-minute simple procedures, and so it will not interrupt your schedule.

You can do it while you are in your underwear & reclining in an easy chair; or even while you are relaxing on your bed. You can develop self-esteem, build self-confidence, get poise, willpower & faith, and; actually, you can get anything that you really want by using the self-improvement skills of the tried and proven confidence-building methods.

I was able to change my life simply by having desire to improve myself and by utilizing the strategic premeditated actions, which are self-improvement skills. It made a world of difference for me.

The Cost to Hire SEO Ghostwriter - How to Find High Quality, Affordable Web Content Services

The cost to hire ghostwriter ranges from dirt cheap to exorbitantly expensive. These days, you have writers in places like India and the Philippines churning out articles for a dollar a piece. This may seem appealing to online business owners and webmasters who are trying to save a few bucks but what about the old adage that says you get what you pay for?

A web content producer who doesn't speak English as a first language will obviously have some issues with grammar and will probably not understand the nuances of the language. If you need high quality web content services, your best bet is to go with a native English speaker.

The Cost to Hire Ghostwriter: How Much is Too Much?

The cost to hire a ghostwriter who is a native English speaker is higher but in the end it's worth every extra cent. You won't have to spend hours editing badly written articles and you will get exactly what you requested. Isn't the whole point of outsourcing to lessen your own workload so you can focus on other things?

Bidding sites are another popular option for webmasters that are searching for cheap content from SEO writers. Unfortunately, they are overrun by producers of low quality content. There are a few diamonds in the rough but generally speaking, you will end up with a web content producer who charges peanuts and delivers peanuts.

How about purchasing high quality content at a moderate price? The cost to hire ghostwriter does not have to be exorbitant. Most webmasters and online business owners simply can't afford to pay top dollar for SEO web content despite the fact that "content is king."

It is definitely possible to hire a web content producer who charges reasonable rates. Think $25 per article rather $1 per article or $50 per article. There are highly-qualified, college-educated writers who charge around that much. You shouldn't pay upwards of $50 unless you are hiring a writer with highly specialized knowledge.

If you pay around the ballpark figure of $25 per article with discounts for bulk orders, it's possible to find an SEO article writer who will exceed your expectations. It's nice to be able to establish a long-term business relationship with a writer rather than head to a bidding site each time you need content to dangle a piece of meat in front of a pack of work-hungry wolves.

In conclusion, the quality of the content you order is the most important factor to consider. The cost to hire ghostwriter who provides top quality content doesn't have to make you break bank however. Keep it within your means but don't be excessively frugal. By finding that safe middle ground, you're bound to find a content writer who's worth keeping.

Article Writing to Generate Clients - 7 Steps to Accelerate Your Article Writing to Generate Clients

You can accelerate or speed up the process of article writing if you know ahead of time the things or elements that you need to incorporate on your content. Among them are the following:

1. Know where to obtain great topic ideas. Don't waste so much time thinking about the topics to write about. Instead of doing the guessing game, visit article submission sites and forums that are considered gold mines of interesting topics. You may also opt to do a keyword search and conduct a survey using your autoresponders to easily get the pulse of your target market.

2. Say no to self-promotion, too much hype, and blatant ads. When writing your articles, keep in mind that your main objective is to inform or empower your readers thus, don't make them sound like sales letters. Avoid bragging about your accomplishments and don't tell your readers that you are the best over the internet. If you want them to feel this way about you, you better make your articles very informative, useful, and well-written.

3. Write for your readers. Avoid making your articles all about you; don't talk about the things that you find interesting and don't talk about yourself. Instead, focus on the needs and demands of your readers. If you are able to effectively address these, you can be assured that you'll earn their trust and get them to do business with you in no time.

4. Say no to plagiarism. Nobody gets away with copied content these days as search engines have aggressive campaign against plagiarism, so don't even think about it. Be willing to spend time writing your articles and make sure that you deliver 100% original content.

5. Write well. It is very important that your articles read well so you can easily promote better understanding among your readers. Be aware of your grammar, spelling, and punctuation to give your prospects great reading experience.

6. Target keywords that are not very competitive. Increase your chances of making your articles appear on the top 10 search result page by writing about keywords that are popular but less competitive.

7. Write more articles. Boost the benefits that you are getting from this marketing tool by producing more articles. This can lead to more inbound links, stronger online presence, and more search engine traffic for your website.

How to Get My Ex Back in 5 Steps

If your lover has left it is because at some level that persons needs are not being satisfied: whether infidelity was involved or not the problem that led to the break up has started sometime before.Repeat after me: "the first step of how to get my ex back is understand what happened."

Usually men want to feel respected, admired, and appreciated again.Women are loyal to the end, until they stop feeling appreciated by their man.Often women are seduced by those who listen at first and later shower them with admiration.

These are fairly basic reasons and obviously more factors are involved but in the end these factors are in there somewhere. In the process of living our lives we stop showing the respect, admiration, and appreciation for our lover and the relationship begins to grow cold.If you are having fights over money, jealousy, the kids, or anything, check and see if this most basic component of your relationship is the root cause because when it goes so does communication and there is where real trouble begins. TV shows make great comedy with this dynamic; the shows are funny because they ring so true.

5 Steps to Getting my ex back

  1. You've lost control of the love relationship and you feel panicked. This is a normal response but you need to get it controlled or you will make things worse.
  2. Temporarily put some space between you and your Ex.This will help you ride out your emotions and give both you and your ex the time needed to cool off.If your initial reaction is to stay in constant contact you are normal, but you must step back from this.Stepping back shows respect to your ex and allows your ex to begin missing you.
  3. Hook up with old friends, do some things for yourself - fitness is always a good thing to do, but do it for yourself not just to impress your ex.Do things to help keep you out of depression.
  4. Do your mental work too.It is important to control what you are telling yourself.Stop the "nobody loves me" voice "how could I be so stupid" or whatever it is.Find something powerful to tell yourself whenever this voice comes.Have a powerful affirmation ready to replace the voice. This might be a lyric, a verse, scripture, or whatever turns you on.Learn to release the feelings - this will help.
  5. Develop a plan of action to reignite the spark, to bring back the good feelings. The fitness mentioned in step 3, the affirmations in step 4 are the beginnings of this.Add journaling to it, use these things to clear yourself this will help you tap into inspiration. With the old programs playing you don't stand a chance but clearing and allowing new life in you will be ready to bring your relationship back to life.

These five steps are at the core of any plan to put your life in order and get your Ex back.

Want to discover the most common but hidden reasons why lovers leave and how you can get your Ex back? Want a proven plan of action?

What Does the Beast in Revelations Look Like?

In the book of revelations, located in the Holy Bible, it mentions that all of the inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast, unless your name is written in the book of life. I don't know exactly what that means but it sounds simple. I would imagine, that an educated Christian researcher, pastor or anyone with experience, manipulating the Scriptures to create something to benefit Christianity or real Christians, wouldn't have a problem explaining this verse to others and having it actually make sense.

The part I left out, is that the beast is described in detail in Revelations. The beast isn't going to be hard to notice, and he is going to be coming out of the sea. You're going to be looking for something with 10 horns but it's only can I have seven heads. It's going to have seven heads but 10 crowns, one on each horn. He's going to look like a leopard but have feet like a bear and a mouth like a lion.

Revelation 13:1 And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. He had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on his horns, and on each head a blasphemous name.

Revelation 13:2 The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion.

That's a pretty clear description and if anyone sees something like that, coming out of the ocean, I would suggest that you, immediately joining the right Christian Church. Now, how would you even know which Christian Church to belong to. Which one of these Christian churches is supporting the false profit.

I don't know if the fear of the world coming to an end, with the hope of entering heaven is enough to convert me into a Christian. However, trying to live a good life like Jesus, showing love and compassion for others might.

But I really don't have to belong to any organization, to actually show compassion and love for other beings or entities. This is a choice that I can actually make on my own, without praying or reading any books. I can make this choice today and without fear.

Basement Design - Finding Furniture That Fits

Imagine this: the colors are just right for your basement design; the lights are on and the floor rugs are in place. In short, everything seems perfect except that there are no equipment or things yet in place. Naturally, this should be the next thing on your mind once you're done with designing your basement. After all, you want to hang around in your basement so you need things to entertain yourself with. You can't just choose items in random though. There are some tips you might want to follow when you pick what goes into your basement.

Weight of Objects

It would be great if you could put some tables, chairs and couches in your basement. You would naturally need all of these so you can relax, play games or work on a hobby. Some basement owners may also consider adding some audio-visual equipment and perhaps some musical instruments. Do remember though that basements could be prone to flooding. If you think your basement isn't going to be spared in the next wet season then it would be best if you had basement equipment and furniture that you can quickly move out in case of emergencies.

Value of Things

You might want to have an expensive flat screen TV in your basement. You might also want to have an expensive or rare painting on the wall to complement your basement design. Other valuable things that may find their way into your basement include family heirlooms and sports memorabilia. Again, you should think twice about putting valuable items in your basement. Moisture and flood could destroy priceless items.

Electrical Gadgets

Television sets, music players and game consoles are great additions to a basement. Do make sure though that there is sufficient protection against possible electrocution just in case these gadgets come in contact with water or moisture.

Organized Themes

You would want the basement to welcome everybody in the family. You would however also want to make sure that you don't end up with cluttered space. You could prevent this by creating a theme for your basement. You can opt for a sports or hobby theme and include items that conform to the theme.

Basement design is one of the most enjoyable things you can get yourself into. Just make sure that you follow good tips for decorating and designing to ensure that your basement will truly become the haven you envisioned.

Is Your Garden Soil Workable? - Keys to Building Good Earth

For those living in the North the March winds can do more damage to plants than the hard freezes of winter. Right now plants are moving from a dormant to an active state. Growth impulses take place, not in the roots, but in the buds, which are exposed to all changes in temperature. Azaleas, forsythia, and other early - flowering shrubs become active with the slightest rise in temperature.

Chill, drying winds can harm unprotected plants. Be careful, therefore, about uncovering plants too soon; many will have started growth. Sudden exposure at this time could be disastrous. Uncover gradually, leaving some protective covering until the new growth becomes a little more hardened.

Digging and soil preparation can begin just as soon as the frost is out of the ground. If the ground is at all workable, get your plowing or digging started. Light, sandy soils can be put into shape sooner than heavier soils.

Nearly all gardens need lime. If quantities of organic matter are used it is absolutely necessary. It neutralizes acids in the soil which result from decomposition of organic matter and other causes, thereby aiding bacterial action. Heavy clay soils are more friable (easier to break up) and their structure improved. Lime supplies plants with calcium; a lime deficiency in the plant will mean a deficiency in food value.

A heavy soil receiving quantities of organic matter requires from 40 to 50 pounds of lime to 1,000 square feet, or 2,000 pounds to the acre. A medium loam requires 30 pounds of lime, and a light, sandy soil, 20 to 25 pounds. This refers to agricultural lime, not to hydrated or builders lime. Agricultural lime can be used with seed, manure and most fertilizers without harm. Not so the other kind. Lime is best spread on the surface of the soil after the initial preparation, and worked into the surface. If you have doubts about adding lime to your soil, test your soil for acidity. Send a sample to a private laboratory or utilize the services of your state agricultural experimental station.

In milder areas the first sowing of beets, carrots, radishes, turnip, spinach, and cabbage can be made. Rows spaced 12 to 20 inches apart are suitable for most crops. A little superphosphate in the bottom of the row will aid germination and initial growth. Onion sets or seeds can be planted now, too. Seeds produce the best onions but require a rich soil and more attention. Early peas of the smooth-seeded type may be sown now; the wrinkled type may be sown a little later.

Sow hardy annuals... sweet peas, cornflowers, larkspur, and poppies. Sweet peas need good soil preparation. The seeds are sown down the center of a foot-wide trench which is dug 18 inches deep and the soil mixed with compost. After sprouting, the seedlings are thinned out to stand 6 inches apart. Then wire, string, or twiggy branches are supplied to support the climbing vines.

If you don't sow larkspur, annual poppies, California poppies and sweet peas early so they can make their major growth in cool weather, you might as well give them up.For those living in the North the March winds can do more damage to plants than the hard freezes of winter. Right now plants are moving from a dormant to an active state. Growth impulses take place, not in the roots, but in the buds, which are exposed to all changes in temperature. Azaleas, forsythia, and other early - flowering shrubs become active with the slightest rise in temperature.

One of the Best Books on Life

Most people read a book and if it's good, they might recommend it to someone else, but if the book is great, you can guarantee they will recommend it to everyone who is interested or who they think might be interested in the book. In the field of personal development, one book comes to mind, it's called, "You Can Have It All" by Arnold Patent.

I found the book in one of our antique thrift stores and paid less than $10 for it, I really didn't think much of it and never heard of Arnold Patent before. We've all heard of Anthony Robbins, Susie Orman, Wayne Dyer, but I never heard of Arnold Patent. I skimmed through the book and it looked like a short read. I read the book in about six hours and plan to reread the book, as soon as I get it back for my daughter. The book has short chapters, most of them less than five pages.

Looking at the short chapters, you could get the impression, that there isn't very much information in each chapter, how could there be with less than five pages and some chapters less than three pages. This was very deceiving to me, because each paragraph, was like a chapter and each chapter was like a small book.

The book is full of tools and advice and combines personal development with spirituality. He has chapters on meditation, energy, enjoying what you love to do for the rest of your life, cause and effect, abundance, attachment, pain and suffering, harmony, karma the past and forgiveness.

I can't tell you what a pleasure it was to read this book and if you're looking for some basics on quite a few motivational, spiritual and laws of attraction topics, this book has almost everything you need to get you interested in changing your life. You could actually read one chapter a day and think about it for the rest of the week, there's that much information in each chapter.

I was reading one of his recommendations and it was from Oprah Winfrey, she said, "It was one of the most important books that I had ever read." That's coming from one of the most successful people in the entertainment business. I stumbled across this book and might not have ever found it, but I'm telling you about it and highly recommend it.

Value Of Change In Your Life

Ask Yourself Some Simple Questions About Religion

Most of us are raised from children into adulthood, to believe in someone else's religion. Most of us never even got the chance to choose a religion or spiritual beliefs to follow on our own. I came up with a simple list of five things that you should know about your religion, or you shouldn't be allowed to practice it.

1. Where did your religion or spiritual beliefs originate from? You should find out who started your religion and why they started it. Some of the worlds major religions were started by intelligent people. Do you think it's possible that your religion was created by an intelligent person, instead of a supreme being or multiple gods. Someone's just trying to trick you into believing.

2. How did you get involved in your religion or spiritual beliefs? Was it part of your upbringing, did your parents suggest this religion to you, how long has your family been involved in your current religious beliefs. Was your great, great, great, great, great grandfather or grandmother part of this religion or spiritual belief. How far back does it go in your family?

3. Do you believe in your religious doctrine or scripture? Is there any parts of your religious scriptures, writings or communication from other fellow believers that doesn't sit right with you? Does every part of your religion makes sense and can it be explained sensibly to someone outside of your religion?

4. Do you practice what you believe on a daily basis? If you're supposed to read your scriptures or pray daily, do you? If your religion teaches love and compassion, how do you treat people less fortunate than yourselves? Are you one of those people who can justify your wrong doings, to yourself and others, to give them the illusion, that you are a religious or spiritual person.

5. Do you know where you are going after you die? Are you going to someplace wonderful and extraordinary, like heaven? If you had to earn enough credits or points, do you think you have acquired enough, to enter the next level of existence? If you're bad, are you going to a bad place, with all the other bad people?

Try to always keep one thing in mind do you use, religion and responsibly.

These are just some of the answers, that I sincerely believe most people should know about their religion or beliefs. You should be able to answer at least one of these questions if asked by a nonbeliever.

Jim Rohn Author Review

The Heretic's Daughter - Religion, Fear and the Salem Witch Trials

The Heretic's Daughter is author Kathleen Kent's first novel, and it is a stunning debut. It takes place in and around Salem, Massachusetts during the 1690's, before and during the infamous Salem witch trials. The narrator's mother, Martha Carrier, is based on the real woman of the same name, who was one of the first woman to be tried and hung in the trials. Ms. Kent is herself a tenth generation descendant of Martha Carrier.

Ms. Kent has done her research, and she does a beautiful job of depicting the harsh realities of life during this time. While the initial Puritan settlers had come to this land to escape persecution, and hoped to found a new religious community, they were besieged by plagues, crop failures, and attacks by indigenous tribes. The child mortality rate was so high, we are told in the first pages, "that some families did not name their child until the child was past twelve months and more likely to live. And in many households if a baby died, that same baby's name would be passed on to the next born. And to the very next if that babe died as well."

This is from the novel's narrator, Sarah Carrier, Martha Carrier's daughter. If Sarah sometimes seems distant and unfeeling as she describes horrific events, it is no wonder, based on the climate in which she was raised. In fact, Sarah's voice and attitude was at first a put-off to me, making her difficult to relate to or feel for. But as the novel progresses, her voice becomes one of the book's greatest strengths, because it provides such a vast contrast to our emotion-laden, Oprah-fueled times. Sarah helps us to see what a stark and difficult existence does to people, and as she does mature - through watching her mother's trial and surviving her own incarceration - her growth and new-found wisdom is that much more evident.

As the novel begins, Sarah and her family are on their way to live with her grandmother, and, unbeknown to them, are bringing smallpox with them to their new community. This fact, along with Martha Carrier's headstrong and outspoken nature, will ultimately lead to the family becoming a target when the terrible accusations begin. Those accusations, as presented in The Heretic's Daughter, gain traction in the community because of the lethal combination of fear and damnation-based religion. The community, facing so many challenges to its existence, cannot fathom why they are being targeted by God for such wrath. Surely there must be some offense, some sin, that they are being punished for? In their desperation, they seek out the 'sinners' amongst them, literally demonizing their own neighbors for the smallest of offenses. They seek to scapegoat and purge - as so many have done in the name of religion throughout history.

From there, the paralysis of fear takes over, with each new charge silencing more people within the community, all seeking to protect their own lives and families. Children as young as four are taken into custody - since the 'devil' is behind it all, and can take over anyone's mind, no one is considered innocent. Quite the contrary, during the trials the defendants are most definitely considered guilty until proven innocent. And their innocence is in the hands of several hysterical, adolescent girls no less (I'll let you read the book to learn more about this.)

One of the most touching aspects of the book is how Martha gets Sarah to save herself, helping Sarah to realize that behind her mother's stern exterior lies the greatest of maternal loves. While Sarah at first despises her mother's difficult personality, wishing she would just capitulate to others, she comes to realize her mother's seeming obstinance is actually born of tremendous faith and wisdom. This is exactly the opposite of what her community elders teach - that strict obedience is the foundation for faith. As Sarah observes, that obedience, along with fear, is what allows the madness to continue for so long.

And so The Heretic's Daughter works on at least three levels. First, as a gripping historical novel that masterfully depicts a certain setting and time period. Second, as a personal story of a mother and adolescent daughter struggling to understand each other. And third, as a cautionary tale about how religion can be twisted when a society is ruled by fear.

Mentware - How to Develop a Money Making Mentality

Yes, you can work your own miracles. You can give your life a turn-around. Mentware is where all the money lies. Yes, all the money you need till you depart this world does not depend on the possession of hardware or the accumulation of all kinds of software. It lies on having the right mentware.

Hardware and software can't show you the money but mentware not only shows you the money but it also puts the money in your pocket. It says to you, "Man, you deserve more than this but just keep doing the right thing because you will soon get exactly what you deserve if you don't give up."

Hardware and software can take all your money away from you but mentware brings more and more money to you. Hardware and software can make your credit card, purse or wallet to be lean but mentware makes your credit card, purse or wallet to be fat.

Hardware and software can give you the spirit of selfishness and laziness but mentware gives you the spirit of service and decisive search for solutions to problems.

Great men and women of our times and history might have used hardware and software to showcase their missions and visions but it was mentware that actually brought success to them. Most of them did not even use hardware and software at all because such tools were not in existence when they were on this planet but they never achieved anything without mentware.

It was mentware that showed and brought Christopher Columbus to America. It was mentware in him that discovered America, a land flowing with milk and honey.

It was mentware that helped Martin Luther King Jnr. to see that time will come when all men and women of America will not be judged by the color of their skin. It is mentware that has made that tall dream to become a reality today and we can all say now, "Yes, we can!"

Smart Thinking - Saving Money For the Future

While we are all aware of the importance of putting away money for the future, the reality is that saving doesn't come naturally to most of us. When it comes to putting money away, setting "smart" goals is the first step in finding the motivation to save.

What are "smart" goals? SMART is a popular acronym for specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and timely. These five characteristics are vital for setting goals and the acronym provides an easy way to remember each of them.

When it comes to saving money it is important to make sure a goal is specific. Rather than telling yourself that you need to put away a little money each month, set a specific figure. This will give you a balance to base the rest of your monthly spending around, as well as a measuring stick to see whether or not you are achieving it.

Why is it important to have measurable goals? If a goal is not measurable, it's difficult to know whether you are actually achieving your goal. A measurable goal means that you will be able to monitor your success and hopefully this will give you a boost to continue saving.

To really achieve a goal it is important to take an action-orientated approach and hone in on all the proactive steps you need to take to achieve that goal. Ask yourself what actions are needed in order make this ambition a reality. From deciding how much to save, to deciding which savings accounts offer the best deals - all of the actions you take will form a vital part of achieving that goal.

While breaking your goal down into mini-actions is extremely important, it is even more important to make sure the goal set is realistic. Is the figure you have set yourself going to over-stretch your budget? Do you have any major outgoings over the next few months which could hinder this goal being achieved? If your goals are not realistic, they will only cause you anxiety; therefore, it makes more sense to save little and often, as opposed to setting an unreachable target.

The final step to smart goal setting is making sure your goals are timely, which refers to having an overall timeframe for your goal. It can also help to set some timely milestones to monitor your progress along the way. In a similar way to setting mini-actions towards your overall goal, setting mini-milestones breaks the process down into shorter, simpler steps - making the goal seem all the more achievable.

When considering your savings and the savings accounts which will work best for you, it is all about thinking smart. While it may take a little extra time to set your goals the smart way, it could pay dividends in the long-run.

Bread Mold

Bread mold is a kind of fungus that is commonly found on bread surfaces. It takes food and nutrients from the bread and causes damage to the surface where it lives. It causes a bad taste to the bread also. But the mold has a place in the industry where it serves as a decomposer that can decompose decayed plants and animals.

Bread mold has a very simple lifecycle. It appears on the bread surface as a wind blown spore. With adequate moisture and nutrients from the bread, this spore sprouts and grows hair like structures on the bread surface. Once the mold attains a particular growth with paint brush like structures, it starts producing fruiting structures. These structures, sometimes called conidia, contain spores that are blown by wind and spreads to other bread surfaces.

Bread mold is found in different types, species, shapes, and colors. Some of the common bread molds are Penicillium, Aspergillus, Rhizopus, Monascus, and Fusarium. Penicillium molds usually appear green and grey in color and Aspergillus mold appears similar to Penicillium to the naked eye. But both are different when examined under a microscopic. In the Aspergillus mold, the fine hairs contain large balloons with spores inside.

If you are interested to see bread mold you can perform a small experiment with bread. You can take a slice of bread and moisten it slightly. Then keep the bread for two or three days in a place where there is no chance of the moisture content drying up. You will see some mold growth on the surfaces.

As the spores of this bread mold are commonly found in the air, bread is easily spoiled. To prevent this growth on bread surfaces, the bread can be baked at a temperature of 400 degrees or preserve the bread with small amounts of chemical. The chemicals used are prop-ionic acid and acetic acid which are safe to be mixed with the bread during the making of the bread.

Problems That Home Inspectors Find

A recent survey of home inspectors resulted in a list of the most frequently found problems in the homes they have inspected. It is significant that within this list of ten categories, at least four are directly related to the damaging effects of water. Thus, keeping water out - is the homeowner's most important and continually challenging objective.

1. Improper Surface Grading/Drainage
This was by far the most frequently found problem, reported by 35.8% of the survey respondents. It is responsible for the most common of household maladies: water penetration of the basement or crawl space.

2. Improper Electrical Wiring
A significant number (19.9%) chose this item as the most common home defect, which includes such situations as insufficient electrical service to the house, inadequate overload protection, and amateur, often dangerous, wiring connections.

3. Roof Damage
Although reported by only 8.5% of the respondents as the most common problem, roof leakage, caused by old or damaged shingles or improper flashing, was considered by CAHPI members to be a frequent problem.

4. Heating Systems
Problems in this category include broken or malfunctioning operation controls, blocked chimneys, and unsafe exhaust disposal.

5. Poor Overall Maintenance
Even the novice home buyer is usually aware of this situation, demonstrated by such signs as cracked, peeling, or dirty painted surfaces, crumbling masonry, makeshift wiring or plumbing, and broken fixtures or appliances.

6. Structurally Related Problems
Many houses, as a result of problems in one or more of the other categories, sustain damage to such structural components as foundation walls, floor joists, rafters, and window and door headers.

7. Plumbing
Though never ranked by the respondents as a Number One problem, plumbing defects still rank high among the house problems encountered, and include the existence of old or incompatible piping materials, as well as faulty fixtures and waste lines.

8. Exteriors
Flaws in a home's exterior, including windows, doors, and wall surfaces, are responsible for the discomfort of water and air penetration, but rarely have structural significance. Inadequate caulking and/or weather-stripping are the most common culprits.

9. Poor Ventilation
Perhaps due to overly ambitious efforts to save energy, many home owners have "over-sealed" their homes, resulting in excessive interior moisture. This can cause rotting and premature failure of both structural and non-structural elements.

10. Miscellaneous
This category includes primarily interior components, often cosmetic in nature, which were not found frequently enough to rank individually in our survey.

Obviously the age of a home plays a significant role in these findings. In older, urban houses, problems such as heating system failure, inadequate electrical service, and worn plumbing can be found with much greater frequency than reflected in this survey.

The survey response percentages were given only for the first three categories because they were so high and statistically meaningful. Items 4 through 10 were ranked significantly lower than the top three, and vary regionally.

What to Expect From a Professional Rental Management Company

Owners of rental property, particularly multiple locations, tend to be busy people. When you own property like a home, apartment complex or duplex, or a large house divided into efficiencies, the stress of handling several tenant issues at once can take its tolls. When the work involved in managing property becomes too much for one person, it may be time to consider letting a real estate or property management company shoulder some of the responsibilities.

Rental and Property Management

It is not uncommon for a real estate agency to offer rental management as part of its many services. Realtors are committed to helping people find a place to live, and it stands to reason that some agencies are willing to work with landlords to place suitable tenants. If you are a property owner interested in handing over the reigns of management, however, you want to be certain the company is reputable and will perform the necessary tasks in order to maintain a happy, secure environment for everybody involved. The ideal property manager will assist you with the following:

Marketing - When you are ready to rent out to new tenants, your manager should help with promoting the available property. A real estate company will advertise on their website or promote through others means (print, social media, classifieds)

Rent Collections - In the event a tenant should default on rent, you want to be certain you know what your rights are with regards to court procedures and eviction. Some real estate agencies that work in property management may provide legal assistance for such matters.

Accounting - When you need somebody to keep record of rent payments and outgoing bills, a good property manager should oversee this with minimal problems.

Applicant Screening - You may not have time to review every interested potential tenant. A good property manager will do the research for you. From checking credit and employment records, interviewing past landlords, and making other background checks, your manager will make sure the ideal candidates make the cut.

Property Inspections and Maintenance - It's important to make sure your property is always up to code. A reputable property manager will see that your homes or apartments are properly maintained and repaired by licensed, bonded contractors.

For the busy property owner, hiring the services of a good property manager can save you money in the long run. Consider the services of a rental property manager or real estate company to take care of the day to day operations of keeping your property in good shape.

Home Sellers - The Dangers of Overpricing Your Home

When I meet with sellers about listing their home often times I hear the strategy of setting the initial asking price high and then coming down in price if it does not sell. This is really not a good idea in a traditional real estate market.

Over the last few years sellers in Sarasota, Florida were successful using this strategy of listing their property with a high sales. They were successful because Sarasota like other parts of the country was in an extreme sellers market. Our prices were continually going above the most recent sales price. Now that the market has cooled off a little bit it is necessary to change strategies when deciding on an asking price.

If you start out with too high of a sales price, then decide to drop it later your house has lost that initial flurry of activity that new listings typically get. This strategy could hurt your chances of selling your home quickly.

I think home sellers want to try this strategy hoping to find an uneducated buyer. Our real estate markets have become very efficient. Real estate information is easy to get and it travels quickly. About 3 out of 4 buyers start their home search on the internet. Today's buyers are more savvy and are more educated. Properties are listed on the MLS and most buyers have access to these listings quickly. The chances of pricing your home very high and selling it to an uneducated buyer is slim.

Lets say you do price your home high and later lower the price. Once your home has been on the market awhile it becomes stale and is harder to get a good offer. Potential buyers always ask how long a home has been on the market. If they see it has been on the market awhile they will make lower offers. By overpricing your home in the beginning, you could actually end up settling for a lower price than you would have normally received.

Home Insurance Policy For Flood-Prone Areas

For residents who live near the coastlines or along rivers and lakes, flooding will be more of a problem than ever. It is the same case with people who live in low-lying areas or near dams. Cleaning up after floods and repairing the damages they left costs a considerable amount of money. Unfortunately, most traditional home insurance policies list flood damages in their exclusions so the homeowners will have to shoulder all the expenses themselves.

In recent years though, there have been a notable increase in the number of insurance policies that offer flood protection. Thanks to the United States government and the National Flood Insurance Program, homeowners who live in flood-prone areas will now be able to get a home insurance policy that can really help protect them and their homes.

A typical flood protection home insurance policy has considerably higher premiums that any other traditional home insurance policy. If you ask around for home insurance policy quotes, you will see that most policies with flood protection will cost an additional $500 to $1,000 in your annual premium, depending on the exact location of your home.

But if you ask anyone who has experienced flooding in the past, they will tell you that the additional amount is more than worth it especially if it can cover the expenses in rebuilding and refurnishing their home. Most of these flood insurance policies can give you up to $150,000 in claims for an average-cost home. The actual amount will depend on the assessed value of your home.

Flooding actually will not cause much structural damage to a home especially if the walls are made of concrete and if the flood subsides quickly. But a home insurance policy is necessary to cover the damages done to the interiors of the house as well as the non-structural items such as furniture and appliances. This is the expensive part since almost all of these items will be damaged and will need to be replaced.

Finding a Homeowner Insurance policy that will cover flood damages will still be quite tough but it's not as impossible as it was before. Who knows, maybe your own insurance company already offers this option. You can start by asking them so you can just add the flood protection to your existing home insurance policy. This will save you the trouble of taking out a new home insurance policy from other companies. You may even be able to save a bit on the premium since you already hold an existing home insurance policy with the company.

If your existing home insurance policy does not have such optional add-ons, you can search the internet for other companies that offer flood protection.
